PROJECT UPDATE:

Utility relocations have begun along 127th Street.  Southern Star Central Gas Pipeline has nearly completed the relocation of the gas line at 127th & Hallet.  This relocation should be completed by February.  Kansas City Power and Light (KCP&L) and AT&T will be the next utilities in the area. 

KCP&L will begin to trim trees in existing easements the week of January 13 and will continue until complete.  The relocation of the KCP&L lines in tentatively scheduled to begin the week of February 20.

AT&T will also be relocating utility lines in the area.  This work is tentatively scheduled to begin the week of February 20. 

The remaining utility relocations will begin within the next few months with completion tentatively in October of 2012.

127th Street from Black Bob to Pflumm should remain open to traffic for the duration of the utility relocations.

PROJECT HISTORY:

The City of Olathe hired GBA to complete the final design improvements on 127th Street from Black Bob to Pflumm.  Improvements will include upgrading the corridor to include two lanes in each direction, tying in to recent improvements from Mur-Len to Black Bob and the existing alignment to the east.  The construction schdeuld is currencly slated for utility relocations in 2012 with the majority of construction in 2013-2014.
