Overview
The City of Olathe has hired an engineering consultant, TranSystems, to develop plans for improving the 2-mile segment of 127th Street from Mur-Len to Pflumm. A two phase process will be conducted to gather feedback from nearby residents, conduct analysis of existing conditions and proposed improvements, prepare final construction plans, and coordinate utility relocations. The first phase is a concept phase which will determine the type of improvement. The second phase is a design phase to prepare right-of-way documents and design plans for construction.

Feedback during the public open-house meetings is critical!! Please plan to attend and share your feedback, ask questions of the project team, and learn about the process.

The first segment of 127th Street to be improved will be Mur-Len to Black Bob.  Funding for improvements is currently proposed through the City’s Capital Improvements Program and is scheduled for construction during the summer of 2009.  The design process for this segment is expected to continue with completion in the fall of 2008.  Right-of-Way acquisition is anticipated to begin in the spring of 2008.   Design plans for future improvements on 127th Street from Black Bob to Pflumm will follow the first segment with construction anticipated during the summer of 2011.
